Description: This professional development session will provide teachers with a clear understanding of how to effectively use the Educator’s Handbook to document, manage, and respond to student behavioral incidents. The session will focus on ensuring consistency in identifying and documenting minor and major incidents, following school and district expectations, and using appropriate interventions before behaviors escalate. Participants will examine what determines whether a behavior should be classified as a minor or major incident. Teachers will discuss common behavior scenarios, practice distinguishing between classroom-managed behaviors and behaviors requiring administrative support, and review the appropriate steps for documenting incidents in Educator’s Handbook. Emphasis will be placed on accurate, objective documentation and consistent implementation of schoolwide behavior expectations. The goal of this professional development is to create a shared understanding of behavior management procedures so that students receive consistent, appropriate, and equitable responses across classrooms and school settings.
