Description: This session supports K–5 educators in strengthening instructional rigor in science through purposeful questioning aligned to Depth of Knowledge (DOK). Participants will examine how different question types shift cognitive demand, analyze science questions across DOK levels, and learn how to intentionally scaffold questions to match the rigor of standards. Using examples and structured protocols from the DPS DOK Questioning framework, participants will practice creating question strands that move students from recall to strategic and extended thinking, ensuring questions serve as a tool for learning—not just assessment.
