It explains the legal definition of misdemeanor child abuse, clarifies when the reporting threshold is triggered (including the “knows or reasonably should have known” standard), and outlines who must report, what information must be shared, and the consequences of failing to report. The presentation also includes practical case studies and “anatomy of a blunder” scenarios to help administrators apply the statute to real-world school situations, emphasizing the principle that when in doubt, reporting to law enforcement is required to promote student safety and legal compliance.
