About me
My name is Shaina Riley (pronounced like Shay-na), and I am excited to be a part of Pearsontown for the 2025-2026 school year!
.
I grew up and have lived in the same small community in the cross-section of Durham, Chapel Hill, and Hillsborough. I attended UNCG previously as I explored my passion for the Theatre Arts, but ultimately decided that I enjoyed working with children and youth more. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Biblical and Theological Studies and served in a church as the Children & Youth Director for 5 years. I also worked in Early Childhood Education for the past 10 years as both a teacher and administrator. I have taken courses through UNCW for their Master's in Education program with a focus on Leadership and Advocacy. I am a lifelong learner and enjoy inspiring others to continuously broaden their educational horizons.
Fun facts: I sang at Carnegie Hall last year, I spent time on a Highland cattle farm in Scotland, and I have a Border Collie puppy named Wyatt Loch who is being trained as a therapy dog.
