Online Academy's 2026–2027 professional learning plan exists to close the distance between where instruction is today and what it will become according to the school's 2028 Goals which requires we increase our overall proficiency, school performance grade, and attendance, as well as maintain current teacher retention and suspension rates. Our 26-27 evidence-based PL Plan provides the purpose, learning, and activities that affects weekly instruction and resulting in shifts of improvement within our Canvas courses and Zoom classes. This plan is IOA's local expression of the Durham Public Schools PLC Framework. Where the DPS Framework sets the district's shared architecture for collaboration — the Identify–Analyze–Plan–Evaluate cycle, the five PLC Structures, and the Evidence–Inference–Impact logic that runs underneath all of it — this plan supplies IOA's content: the four 2026–27 Instructional Focus Areas, the School Improvement Indicators, and the diagnostic and tiered-coaching infrastructure already built for IOA's 24 teaching faculty. Upon completion of this session, we will be able to: (1) explain how our professional learning plan is grounded in the DPS PLC Framework; (2) see and understand how our professional learning plan is embedded in our PLCs, coaching support, and teaching and learning practices; and (3) know where to find one's own personalized Library pathway and next steps to get started.
