Description: This session introduces first-year teachers to the North Carolina Educator Effectiveness System (NCEES). Participants will learn what is required during their first year, including the orientation, self-assessment, Professional Development Plan, observations, post-observation conferences, and summary evaluation. Teachers will examine the North Carolina Professional Teaching Standards, understand how their practice will be evaluated, and identify the evidence they can use to demonstrate growth. Participants will leave knowing what to expect, what they are responsible for, and how to use feedback throughout the year to strengthen their teaching.
