Description: Montessori pedagogy aligns well with a focus on explicit teaching, feedback, and DOK. However, teaching multiple grade levels and individuals during work cycle can feel like conducting a symphony with multiple sections of instruments--when one section is off, the whole symphony sounds off. This session will use Positive Discipline in the Montessori Classroom (Jane Nelson & Chip DeLorenzo) linking the importance of preparing both the physical and human environment to support student learning and independence—leaving with practical next steps to support student (mis-)behavior. Spoiler alert: PDMC and Restorative Practices have near perfect alignment 🙂
