Description: Rigor isn’t heavier workload—it’s the quality of thinking students must demonstrate. In this session, 9–12 teachers will learn to design rigorous, accessible instruction by pairing Explicit Teaching (clarity, modeling, guided practice, release) with DOK as the driver of cognitive demand. We’ll weave positionality into text analysis across DOK 1–4 and connect those skills to academic integrity routines that build ethical scholarship. Teachers will leave with an upgraded task, an ownership routine, and clear student-work “receipts” to monitor impact.
