Restoring Captured Hearts_STOP Violence Grant: For educators with Capturing Kids Heart experience looking to incorporate restorative practices at Northern and Southern High Schools.

Authentic implementation of your school’s cultural framework is the tool by which the culture (i.e. personality) of your classroom can be redefined such that the climate (i.e. attitude) supports a learning space conducive for increasing a student’s sense of belonging.During this professional learning, participants will be able to reflect upon the culture (i.e., personality) and climate (i.e. attitude) of their classroom and apply new techniques which will positively impact student academic performance.Participants will learn the key aspects of the cultural framework, restorative practices, which focus’ on resolving conflict, creating positive relationships, repairing harm, healing relationships, and reducing disciplinary incidents. The training is specific for teachers at schools with experience implementing the cultural framework, Capturing Kids Hearts (CKH).The participants will learn ways in which the key components of CKH align with and support restorative practices implementation.

Prekindergarten teachers and Instructional Assistants - Toilet Training (required training)

Participants will identify the rationale for toilet training versus changing and learn the best practices for toilet training in order to develop a toilet training protocol.Bring a charged laptop, pencil, and paper.
