Montessori Teacher Training for Early Childhood (ages 3-6) and Elementary 1 (ages 6-9). This work session is designed for teachers to work collaboratively with Montessori trainers and colleagues to create materials for lessons in the Montessori Classroom. The academic focus will include: Montessori Philosophy, Child Development, Classroom Leadership, Parent Involvement, Observation, Practical Life, Mathematics, Language, Sensorial, Geography, Science, Music, Art, and Movement.

The Little River Instructional Leadership Team will engage in a book study of Montessori: A Modern Approach by Paula Polk Lillard, with supplemental readings. The goal is to provide team with a foundation for school curricular correlation of district curricular pacing/district expectations to Montessori and to connect district SEL Programs/PBIS expectations to Montessori Peace Education.
