Welcome to the Durham Public Schools Professional Learning Schedule of Professional Learning! Here you will find a comprehensive list of PL sessions occurring throughout our district.
This class is designed for the beginner or as a refresher for the more experienced techs. We will cover theory and principles of operation, electric controls, and temperature control systems. This class includes training in diagnosis, testing, service and repair.
Each grade level chair will come prepared to review expectations for student data binders and create a sample for each grade level to ensure cohesiveness across the grades.
Data Resource Tracking session: Teachers will create a system of tracking data within Small Groups--Using Progress Monitoring sheets to understand your data;Resource Dive: working with your TLC to discover HMH resources to pull slides and customize for next lessons
In this training teachers will learn what 4Let's Get Growing4 means as well as various data points used to determine growth. Teachers will be trained on procedures for this initiative.
Teachers will learn how to collect and analyze data to help determine the instructional needs of their students. Teachers will explore the various resources they can use to facilitate small group instruction. Teachers will learn to plan for small group reading lessons. This topic will span over the course of 3-4 sessions.
Principal Taylor-Simon, who has been recognized in our district for exemplar data practices, will lead an overview on the school accountability model. Target students, interventions, etc. will be discussed. Ms. Ruby and Ms. Leet will also present how the math team has responded to MOY data and receive feedback from Ms. Taylor-Simon.
In this session we will share our best practices and procedures for Teacher Progress Monitoring Sheets and Student Data Folders. Learn what data and goal setting looks like from a teacher's POV and a student's POV.

Teachers will meet to look at the most recent unit data. They will identify academic, behavioral and attendance concerns. Interventions will be documented in Panorama.
Exceptional Children educators meet weekly to review IEP best practices which align with IDEA. Other activities include reviewing IEP goals with standards alignment, collaboration around scheduling and student needs, mainstreaming, progress monitoring, behavioral supports, and compliance checks.
