As you know, the goal is to inform teachers of the importance of having a plan for instruction and the value of PLC's. Our hope was to have teachers leave with a lesson plan to implement in their classes the following day.

This session is a monthly meeting for all beginning teachers (BTs) who receive support from the DPS BT Support Program and currently work at Githens Middle School.
Participants attend a Praxis II/Pearson Preparation course designed to meet the following objectives: 1. Introduce teachers to the structure and general content of the Praxis II/Pearson Assessments. 2. Present common question types and formats, including ways to identify and strategies for answering. 3. Provide instruction in assessing content knowledge. 4. Lead teachers in using this assessment to develop a personalized study plan. 5. Provide opportunities for teachers to (a) practice Praxis II/Pearson Assessments questions in their specific content areas; (b) get feedback on their practice; (c) develop a plan of action based on the feedback; (d) learn test-taking strategies. Participants will be asked to participate in a planning survey beforehand for the purposes of gleaning information that will help our staff tailor the PD to meet their needs and can receive e-support from their learning coach until their exam
