Session 1 and 2 of a three part training series designed to provide for educators the one day IIRP Restorative Practices Training in a three part series. Participants will learn the key components of restorative practices. No sub is needed because the session is scheduled during planning times at Southern. Authentic implementation of your school’s cultural framework is the tool by which the culture (i.e. personality) of your classroom can be redefined such that the climate (i.e. attitude) supports a learning space conducive for increasing a student’s sense of belonging. During this professional learning, participants will be able to reflect upon their classroom and apply new techniques which will positively impact student academic performance. Each session is a continuation of the previous session. Participants earn 1.5 hours because in addition to the 45 minutes of content, there will be pre and post work. As this work is part of the STOP Violence Grant, a pre and post assessment is completed to determine the impact the training will have on achieving goals of the grant.
Participants will meet virtually with Everfi staff to learn about the various online course options. Presenters will review curriculum guides/scope & sequences to align with EVERFI resources. New courses and opportunities will be spotlighted.
